The roaming jack has been seen throughout the relatively rural slice of southern Davidson County for "awhile," according to a Facebook post by Metro Councilmember Jacobia Dowell, whose district includes Cane Ridge.

According to the Cane Ridge Community Club, the donkey is spotted often on Pettus Road and Cane Ridge Road. One neighbor posted that he frequently visits her property "Always looking for food, water and the female horse next door."
Dowell said if the donkey is not retrieved, Metro Animal Care and Control will have to round him up, but she also indicated she is going to ask an area farmer to take him in.
