Driver Found Shot Dead After South Nashville Crash

Metro Police investigating a car wreck discovered a driver with a fatal gunshot wound.

NASHVILLE, TN — Police called to investigate a car accident instead found a driver who would had been shot dead.

Police responded to the accident call at Southwood Apartments around 6 p.m. for reports of a car that had crashed into a retaining wall. When they arrived they found Omar Lindsey, 30, collapsed within feet of the car.

According to a police report, Lindsey was in the car with two other people when gun shots rang out and all three fled. The other two people escaped in a Dodge Charger, which was later found abandoned in the James Cayce Homes.
