Families Left Homeless After Overnight Fire Destroys South Nashville Condo Complex
The early-morning two-alarm fire at Castlewood Condominiums grew so intense firefighters had to retreat.

NASHVILLE, TN — An early-morning two-alarm fire destroyed a south Nashville condominium complex, leaving more than a dozen families homeless.
The Nashville Fire Department responded to the rapidly-spreading blaze at the Castlewood Condiminiums on Harold Drive just after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
"Flames became so intense, started travelling so quickly that we had to pull all of our folks out of there for their safety. At the same time, we requested a second alarm, which means that we doubled the fire engines and manpower for this fire because of the scale and intensity of it," Brian Haas, NFD spokesman, told WSMV.
