A Frank Statement: String of Tobacco Thefts Continue Across Nashville

Another overnight robbery in South Nashville nets cigarettes for thieves.

NASHVILLE, TN — The haul from an overnight robbery of a South Nashville convenience store included a carton of cigarettes, an increasingly common occurrence across the city.

Police say two men teamed up to rob the Marathon station on Murfreesboro Road near Foster Avenue, with one suspect entering the store with a gun and the second outside serving as a lookout. The hold-up yielded $80, two cigars and a carton of cigarettes.

Investigators say both men were wearing dark hoodies and drove off in a silver Chevrolet Impala with front-end damage.
