Man Charged With Homicide in South Nashville Shooting

Tyrus Evans is alleged to have killed Rickie Anderson in the climax of a long-running dispute.

NASHVILLE, TN β€” Metro Police have made an arrest in an afternoon shooting September 23 outside J.C. Napier Homes in south Nashville.

Investigators say Tyrus Evans, 22, shot and killed 43-year-old Rickie Anderson while Anderson was standing in a crowd of people. Evans and Anderson have been engaged in a long-running feud, according to police.

Police say Evans shot Anderson four to five times in the leg and stomach. He was reportedly seen on video surveillance running from the scene and was identified as the shooter in a photo line-up by a witness.

Evans is charged with criminal homicide and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
