19-Year-Old Stabbed To Death At Murfreesboro Road Market, Suspect Arrested

Metro Police arrested a suspect in the stabbing death of a 19-year-old on Murfreesboro Road.

NASHVILLE, TN — A 19-year-old man was found dead, stabbed in the neck, near a Murfreesboro Road market early Thursday morning.

Passersby found the body of Joshua Taylor lying in a pool of blood at Gold Star Market at 974 Murfreesboro Road around 2:20 Thursday morning. Detectives believe Taylor had been stabbed behind nearby A&H Auto Market, but ran to the market's parking lot where he died. Taylor had been stabbed in the neck and police said they learned that a suspect may have been hiding at a homeless camp on Kermit Drive. Detectives said Taylor and Mitchell Tarver, 49, had some sort of argument and they believe Tarver pulled a folding knife and stabbed Taylor.

Tarver was arrested and charged with murder. He is being held on a $500,000 bond. Detectives say Tarver was carrying the knife which they believe is the murder weapon.
