Mom, Child Robbed At Gunpoint, Thief Found With Anti-OD Drug In Underwear, 5 Chainsaws In Car: Police

A mother and child were robbed at gunpoint in Antioch Tuesday.

ANTIOCH, TN — A man who robbed a mother and her young child at gunpoint was arrested with needles, spoons and an anti-overdose drug in his underpants, according to Metro Police.

According to an affidavit, a woman was unloading her car on Kothe Way in Antioch when she was approached by Dusan Simic, 37, who pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun, pointed it at the woman and her son and demanded the woman's purse and car keys, which she turned over. Wednesday, an officer saw Simic driving a stolen car with a stolen tag and attempted to pull him over. Simic then fled, according to police, leading officers on a chase which showed "extreme disregard for the safety of others."

Simic hopped out of the car on Antioch Pike, according to police, and resisted arrest but was apprehended.

During a search, police found a spoon, needle and nalaxone, an anti-overdose drug. Police said Simic admitted to taking a gram of heroin. Officers also found five chainsaws and various electronics.

Simic is charged with, among other things, aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, vehicle theft, possession without a prescription, resisting arrest and DUI.
