Nashville Good Samaritan Narrowly Avoids Carjacking

A woman who had stopped to help a disabled vehicle nearly fell victim to a carjacking in south Nashville early Tuesday.

NASHVILLE, TN — Quick thinking likely saved a Good Samaritan from being carjacked early Tuesday morning on Interstate 24.

A woman saw a crash on the shoulder of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 near the Harding Place exit around 12:30 Tuesday morning and stopped to help, but as she got out of her car, she was approached by a man with a knife who demanded her vehicle.

She activated her car's alarm, which scared the man, who fled.

Later, police arrested Alfredo Martinez, 27, and charged him with attempted robbery, driving without a license and leaving the scene of an accident.
