Nashville Police Arrest Suspected Memphis Car Thief

Police tracked the GPS on a stolen SUV out of Memphis to the Nolensville Pike Walmart.

NASHVILLE, TN — A man allegedly made it all the way from Memphis to Nashville in a stolen SUV before being hoist on his own petard: not realizing he stole an SUV with GPS.

Metro Police used the GPS on the vehicle to track it to the parking lot of the Nolensville Pike Walmart. As they arrived, Roy Webster allegedly sped out of the parking lot and towards Harding Pike where a police report said he was going in excess of 70 mph before crashing into a car.

After the wreck, Webster bailed out and tried to escape on foot, weaving around trees and hopping fences before being apprehended.
