Nashville Police Investigate 3 Unrelated Carjackings

Two carjackings in South Nashville and one near the Wilson County line are an uncomfortable trend, but aren't related, police say.

NASHVILLE, TN — Two carjackings in South Nashville and another in Hermitage overnight followed similar patterns, but aren't related, Metro Police say. In all three cases, the carjackings involved multiple attackers using handguns.

Just after midnight Thursday, two assailants, wearing ski masks and all black clothing, approached a victim on Xavier Drive in Antioch and stole the victim's 2007 black Lexus SUV, money and cell phone. The victim was treated by Nashville Fire Department personnel on the scene.

About 20 minutes later on Bridgeway Drive, also in Antioch, several suspects were seen attempting to break in to cars. The suspects then blocked a 2008 Nissan Sentra, ordered the occupants out of the car at gunpoint, fired a shot into the air, and stole the Sentra. While the victims reported seeing "several" suspects, only three were described: One was around 5 feet-11-inches and weighed 160 pounds, a second stood 5-feet-6-inches weighing 180 pounds, and the third was 5-feet-10-inches and weighed 200 pounds. All were dressed all in black.
