Pawn Storm Variation: Police Seek Sneaky Thief Who Camped Inside South Nashville Pawn Shop

The Music City Pawn Shop was robbed for the third time in two months, and this time the thief operated stealthily.

NASHVILLE, TN — Forgive the owner of the Music City Pawn Shop in South Nashville if he seems a little gob-smacked and feels a little snake bit.

The Nolensville Road pawn shop has been robbed three times in the past two months, in increasingly complicated ways. The first was a basic smash-and-grab. In the second, a man shot his way in through a window.

But Wednesday morning's burglary was the most bizarre. Motion sensors detected someone at 2:30 a.m. and surveillance video captured a man moving through the store, busting up a jewelry case before leaving through a back door.

But there were no signs of forced entry. Investigators believe the burglar camped inside the store and lied as motionless as possible until he began the heist.

Police are not sure if the three robberies are connected.
