Police Looking For Thieves Who Pulled 'Hey, Look Over There' Scam on Elderly Woman in South Nashville
An 88-year-old woman was told she left her door open and when she checked, thieves stole her purse from her shopping cart.
NASHVILLE, TN — An 88-year-old woman's purse was stolen in the parking lot of the Nolensville Road Aldi by a pair of thieves using the oldest trick in the book.
The woman was unloading her shopping cart when a Chevy Malibu pulled alongside and said she had left her drivers' side door open. When the victim went to check on the door, a woman from the Malibu stole her purse from the shopping cart. While attempting to retrieve her purse, the victim fell and injured her knee and elbow. The suspects fled in the Malibu which had dark tinted windows.The suspect is a black woman who appears to be in her late 20s or 30s, police said. The getaway driver is described as a black man in his 20s.
