Police: Man Shot Dead In South Nashville Was Targeted

NASHVILLE, TN — A man shot and killed in south Nashville Friday afternoon was targeted, police say.

Rickie Anderson, 43, was standing with a crowd of people at the J.C. Napier public housing project on Charles E. David Boulevard around 2 p.m. Friday when someone shot him in the torso. Anderson was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died.

Detectives are pursuing a number of active leads, but believe that the shooting was not random.
