Police: Scofflaw Rams Police Cruiser, Absconds With Taser After South Nashville Stop

A man is on the run after bashing a police car in South Nashville and speeding off with a Taser.

NASHVILLE, TN — An officer attempting to ticket a man for leaving his car running unattended saw his own car run into and lost his Taser as the scofflaw driver fled, Metro Police said.

Around 11:30 Wednesday morning, police officers at the Exxon at 340 Harding Place noticed an car with its engine running left unattended, which is against the law. As one officer was writing the citation, he was confronted by the irate driver who then run away and then came back to the car.

As the driver got back inside his car, one officer attempted to use a stun gun on the man, apparently unsuccessfully, as the man was able to drive away as the Taser fell into the car. The man then hit the patrol car and sped towards Interstate 24 in a 2017 Nissan Maxima.
