Quick Thinking Police Likely Saved Man In Antioch Shooting

A man was shot in his car outside an Antioch soccer complex and Metro Police may have saved his life.

ANTIOCH, TN — A tourniquet rapidly applied by Metro Police officers likely saved the life of an Antioch shooting victim late Tuesday.

The man, who has not been identified, was sitting in his car outside of the International Indoor Soccer Complex on Antioch Pike when four men approached the rear of the vehicle. The responding officers quickly applied a tourniquet to the man's wounds and he was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Doctors told police officials that the officers' quick thinking may have saved the man's life.

Suspect information was not immediately available and a motive was unclear. Witnesses told police the suspects fled in a white Honda Accord, which headed south on Antioch Pike.
