Six Arrested in South Nashville Drug Bust

Police serving a warrant in South Nashville said they smelled pot, leading to the discovery of a big-time drug operation.

NASHVILLE, TN — Metro Police arrested six people Tuesday in a drug bust that wasn't exactly planned.

Officers were serving a warrant at 4820 Highlander Court in south Nashville for a probation violation by a man under lifetime supervision after a rape conviction. When the door opened, the officers said they detected a strong marijuana odor.

Inside police found $850 in cash, a pound and a half of pot, 1.5 ounces of cocaine, 17 Xanax bills, drug paraphernalia, numbers tickets and three pistols, one of which was reported stolen.

Six people were arrested on charges stemming from the impromptu bust:

  • Thomas Shepherd, 52, who was wanted on the probation violation.
  • Kevin Strickland, 55
  • Jentri Peebles, 22
  • Kimar Peebles, 27
  • Rossie Ellison, 37
  • Yolanda Peebles, 45
