South Nashville Convenience Store Clerk Shoots Customer: Police
A war of words ended in gunfire at a South Nashville convenience store Monday night.

NASHVILLE, TN — A convenience store clerk swung a baseball bat wildly and fired a gun blindly at a customer on Murfreesboro Pike Monday night, according to police.
Metro Police say the clerk, Odai Ghunim, and an unnamed customer got in a verbal spat for an unknown reason at the Shell station on Murfreesboro Pike. As that fight escalated, Ghunim allegedly pulled out a baseball bat, swinging it at the customer and hitting him in the arm. Then, police say, Ghunim pulled out a handgun, leading to a further struggle with the customer.
It was then the customer decided, wisely, to leave the store and police say Ghunim then closed his eyes and fired at the man. There was one other employee and two other customers in the store at the time, but no one was injured.
