Violent South Nashville Home Invasion Leaves 91-Year-Old Hospitalized
A man came to the door, asking the woman if she needed a transmission and then beat her and her daughter violently, police say.

NASHVILLE, TN β A 91-year-old woman is in critical but stable condition after a brutal daytime home invasion Thursday.
A man came to the door of her home on Edmonson Pike around 10:30 Thursday morning and asked the woman if she needed a transmission, according to a police report. He then punched the woman in the face and forced his way inside, continuing his brutal attack until she fell to the floor.
The man then beat the woman's 52-year-old daughter with a mop as she tried to block him in the front hallway. The women told police the attacker filled a pillowcase with jewelry and dragged an armoire from the home.
