Brentwood Company to Lead Assessment of Nashville's Pro Sports Venues

Venue Solutions Group will evaluate the life spans of Bridgestone Arena and Nissan Stadium.

BRENTWOOD, TN — A $400,000 study of Nashville's two premier sports venues will be led by a Brentwood-based firm.

The Metropolitan Sports Authority approved a $400,000 contract with Commonwealth Development Group, which will, in turn, subcontract a study of Nissan Stadium and Bridgestone Arena to Brentwood's Venue Solutions Group for $355,000.

Both facilities are nearly two decades old and the Tennessee Titans' requests for reimbursement for repairs and upgrades at Nissan Stadium have continued to rise and are outpacing the revenues from a $3 ticket surcharge designed to pay for capital improvements. The idea behind the study is that the Sports Authority, the landlord at both the stadium and arena, will get a better handle on long-term costs.

The Titans and Predators are splitting the cost of the study.

The Titans' half comes out of the leftover money from a loan taken to replace the seats at the stadium, which was paid for by Metro to the tune of $15 million. The Predators' half is being paid for with excess revenue generated by the arena.
