Brentwood Fire Crews Return From East Tennessee

With the Mobray fire 95 percent contained after burning 1,000 acres, Brentwood firefighters are returning home.

BRENTWOOD, TN — After nine days, Brentwood crews fighting an East Tennessee wildfire are returning home.

Brentwood Fire & Rescue personnel led a "strike team" fighting the Mobray fire in Hamilton County. That fire, which burned more than 1,000 acres, is now 95 percent contained and, for now, will be fought by Department of Forestry firefighters.

The strike team was deactivated Tuesday morning.

Seventeen Brentwood firefighters were deployed to Mobray Mountain. Unusually for a department in Middle Tennessee, Brentwood has firefighters trained in wild land firefighting, a wholly different undertaking than structure fires.
