Brentwood OKs Food Trucks
A new set of regulations approved by the city commission will allow food trucks broader access in Brentwood.

BRENTWOOD, TN β The City Commission unanimously approved a set of regulations which will allow food trucks to operate inside Brentwood.
The regulations will allow for food trucks to set up shop in:
- All commercial districts, rather than only in ones permitting retail sales
- Suburban industrial districts for special events.
- Residential districts for homeowners association events or other special events.
Food trucks will be required to purchase a $50 permit. Those operating without a permit would be required to pay $100. The trucks would be allowed to operate from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will not be allowed to park in public rights of way.

The changes allow food trucks to operate independently in places like Maryland Farms, whereas before the trucks would have to coordinate with another business to conduct sales.
"Itβs good for the community, itβs good for food truck owners, and itβs good for the city as a whole," Dallas Shaw, owner of Hoss' Loaded Burgers food truck and president of the Nashville Food Truck Association, said according to The Tennessean. "I just hadnβt heard since we last met if there were restaurants in Brentwood in opposition to us coming in, and (the commissioners) said they have heard very little to almost no restaurants or community members having pushback."
