What makes a photograph stand out? Is it composition, lighting, timing, creativity, or simply the ability to see something others might overlook?
Join us at 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, for our November meeting at the Otter Creek Church, 409 Franklin Road in Brentwood.
We’ll explore these questions through the work of seven talented photographers from AbleVoices, a local nonprofit organization that uses photography to encourage creativity, self-expression, and community involvement among individuals with disabilities.
Our guest photographers will share a selection of their photographs entered in recent Williamson County Fair competitions, including images that earned ribbons. We’ll hear about the inspiration behind their photographs, what caught their attention, and why they chose to capture those particular moments.
Joining them will be Jerry Atnip, an accomplished Nashville fine art and commercial photographer, former BPG President, and experienced photography competition judge.
Jerry, who judges the Williamson County Fair photography competition, will offer his perspective on the images, discussing what caught his attention, the qualities that made them successful, and why certain photographs earned recognition.
His observations will provide valuable insights into photographic composition, visual impact, creativity, and the sometimes elusive qualities that distinguish an award-winning image.
This promises to be an inspiring and educational evening, celebrating the achievements of our guest photographers while offering everyone an opportunity to see photography through different eyes.
Whether you’re an experienced photographer or just beginning your photographic journey, there will be something to learn and enjoy.
