Long-time Brentwood Community Relations Director Linda Lynch Retires

Known as the architect of city traditions and preserver of city history, Lynch steps away after nearly three decades.

BRENTWOOD, TN — Linda Lynch, for 29 years Brentwood's Community Relations Director, will retire Wednesday.

She is the progenitor of events that started small and grew into Brentwood mainstays. She began the Independence Day Fireworks Show that brought out 200 people in its debut and nearly 20,000 this summer. The city's well-known Summer Concert Series was also her brainchild.

The Williamson County native is also lauded for her commitment to preserving the history of the city. She founded the Brentwood Historical Commission and was instrumental in preserving and maintaining Ravenswood Mansion, Smith Park, the Cool Springs House and Boiling Spring Academy.

“What has always impressed me the most is the love she has for her fellow employees and the City of Brentwood. She has always gone above and beyond the call of duty and will certainly be missed. I know she will enjoy her retirement but the city will always have a void without her,” Mayor Regina Smithson said.

Lynch’s replacement is Deanna Lambert, who comes from a stint as a spokesperson for the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Before that, she worked in TV news, including at Nashville's WSMV.

A reception for Lynch will be held Wednesday September 7th from 2 to 3:30pm at City Hall.
