For those who did not do as well as they would have liked, the state Department of Education is offering a free re-take for seniors who already took the test as juniors. The state already offered vouchers for free testing for juniors, but under a first-of-its-kind program approved by the legislature this year, a second chance is being offered for any public high school senior to take the test for free on the national test day of Oct. 22. The registration deadline for that test is Sept. 16.
