Tennessee Lawmaker Wants A Tax-Free Weekend For Guns And Ammo
A Jacksboro Republican wants Tennessee to be the third state to offer a sales tax holidays for guns and ammunition.

NASHVILLE, TN β Tennessee could become the third state to offer a tax-free weekend for firearms and ammunition.
State Rep. Dennis Powers, Republican of Jacksboro, filed a bill this week designating the first weekend in September as a sales-tax holiday, to be called the "Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday," on the purchase of firearms, including BB guns, and ammunition.
Louisiana and Mississippi already have a tax-free weekend for guns and reloading supplies.

State Sen. Mae Beavers, Republican of Mt. Juliet, is the Senate sponsor of the bill.
