MAIN RECREATION CENTERS, SPLASH PARKS, OUTDOOR POOLS AND NATURE PARKS OPEN ON LABOR DAY
Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s (WCPR), six main recreation centers, two splash parks and four outdoor pools will be open on Labor Day, Monday, September 6. Facilities will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and outdoor pools and splash parks will be open from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; weather permitting.
Participating facilities include: the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Rd.; the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Dr.; the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Blvd.; the Indoor Sports Complex at 920 Heritage Way in Brentwood; the Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville, 7250 Nolensville Rd.; and the Williamson County Enrichment Center, 110 Everbright Ave., in Franklin. All other indoor facilities will be closed.
Timberland Park, located on the historic Natchez Trace Pkwy., at mile marker 437.2, will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and the Wilkins Branch Mountain Branch Park, 5664 Wilkins Branch Rd., Franklin, will be open from 8 a.m. to sunset, weather permitting.

FITNESS AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS AT COUNTY RECREATION CENTERS
New Group Fitness Classes Added
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department (WCPR) offers a variety of fitness and wellness programs in recreation centers across Williamson County for fitness enthusiasts of all ages, interests and ability levels, including group fitness classes, small group training sessions, wellness workshops and personal training.
Several new Group Fitness classes have been added at multiple locations including a new Row and Weights class in Nolensville; a new 30/30 Cardio and Chisel & Sculpt class in Franklin; a new Dance Club Cardio class in Fairview; and new Tai Chi, Restorative and Vinyasa Yoga classes starting in Brentwood in September. Group Fitness classes are offered in a variety of styles including, land and aqua-based classes, and fees are only $8 per class for teens and adults (ages 13-54); $4.00 per class for seniors (ages 55+) or are included with any premium department pass.
A variety of small group programs are available as well and consist of a number of different styles including Boxing, Running, Youth Fitness, Senior Boot Camp and Fall Prevention plus more!
WCPR also has a diverse team of certified Personal Trainers on hand to challenge and motivate clients of all fitness levels to maximize their body’s potential! Traditional and Yoga Personal Training sessions are available. Whether your goals are related to weight, stress management, or overall general health; our staff will partner with you to meet your goals!

THERAPEUTIC RECREATION ACTIVITIES OFFERED AT LOCAL RECREATION FACILITIES
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s (WCPR) Therapeutics Division hosts a variety of recreation programs for children, adolescents, young adults and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities at recreation centers in Franklin and Nolensville.
Programs include some patron favorites like Miscellaneous Mondays, Culinary Creations and Games Galore at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Rd.; plus monthly Movie Mondays and Friendsday Wednesday social programs at the Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville, 7250 Nolensville Rd.; along with a monthly Therapeutic Respite program on Saturdays. Each month also features a “Friday Fun Day” offsite activity for young adults and older which will include a trip to Kings Bowl in Franklin in September.

SENIOR ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS OFFERED AT LOCAL RECREATION FACILITIES
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department (WCPR) hosts a variety of programs at recreation centers across Williamson County for seniors of all ages and activity levels including art, fitness, nature and sport programs.
A special Senior Movie Matinee will be held at the Williamson County Performing Arts Center, 112 Everbright Ave., in Franklin, on Tuesday, September 14; and registration for several new senior sport leagues open in September, including a new Pickle Ball league and Bocce Ball league. Additional programs include monthly bingo events, lunch bunch and senior hike outings; art sessions; yarn club; dulcimer dandies; and Wii bowling; plus a variety of senior fitness and wellness programs and classes.

ART, MUSIC AND RECREATION PROGRAMS OFFERED AT LOCAL RECREATION FACILITIES
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department (WCPR) hosts a variety of art, music and general recreation programs for children, teens, adults and seniors at recreation centers across Williamson County in Brentwood, Fairview, Franklin, Nolensville and Spring Hill. From oil and acrylic painting classes; to youth and adult music programs, to a variety of educational and recreation-based instructional classes, we offer an assortment of activities for a multitude of interests.
Art options feature a variety of children’s painting, homeschool art and pre-school painting classes; plus a wide selection of teen and adult painting, photography and pottery programs. Musical offerings include instructional piano and guitar lessons; educational Toddler & Me and Music and Me programs for young children and adults; as well as, a Group Singing Workshop and a new program focused on preparing teens for their “first gig” with tips on choosing and preparing cover songs, writing original songs and performance feedback. Several performing arts programs are also available this fall including a Little Stars pre-school program and auditions for school-aged students and teens for The Start Bright Player’s December production of Cinderella. And rounding out our line-up of programs are some exceptional recreation based classes like Pre-school prep programs, culinary classes, knitting, martial arts programs and dance classes.
