Williamson County Seeks Public Input on Traffic Plan
The county will hold meetings this week to hear from citizens on a strategy to solve traffic woes.

FRANKLIN, TN — Williamson County wants to solve its traffic paralysis through analysis and the next step is listening to the voice of the people.
The county has scheduled two meetings this week "to solicit input from residents on potential strategies to help manage continued and future population and traffic growth within the unincorporated areas of the county."
The first meeting will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, at Hillsboro School at 5412 Pinewood Road. The second, also 6:30 to 8, will be Thursday, November 3, at Trinity Elementary at 4410 Murfreesboro Road.

The meetings are being led by consultants from AECOM, hired along with McBride Dale Clarion in August to lead the study of the Comprehensive Traffic Strategy.
The strategic plan elements will include traffic management, how to integrate the land use plan, a list of prioritized capital projects, funding sources, and legal and regulatory actions, including what the county requires from developers of new projects.

Ultimately, the plan will also include a schedule for implementation, though the county commission is under no obligation to adopt that schedule and can simply use it as a guideline.
