Williamson County Unemployment Rate Up Again in January, Still State's Lowest
The unemployment rate rose in all 95 counties in Tennessee again in January, with Williamson's up to 3.9 percent.
NASHVILLE, TN — The unemployment rate in Williamson County was 3.9 percent in January, up 0.4 percent from the December figure, according to the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development. The unemployment rate rose in all of Tennessee's 95 counties for the second month in a row.
Once again, Williamson County has the state's lowest unemployment rate, slightly better than Davidson County's 4.1 percent. Of the 10 lowest county numbers, nine were in Middle Tennessee.
In the last year, the Williamson County jobless number has increased 0.8 percent.

The estimated city-level figure for Brentwood is 4 percent. In neighboring Franklin, it is 3.7 percent, the lowest among the state's cities of at least 25,000 people.
The state rate, reported last week, is 5.4 percent, up 0.3 percent from December.
