UPDATE: Main Street paving project is scheduled to be completed by October 31 (local3news.com) — If you drive, bike, or walk Main Street in Chattanooga, expect resurfacing and new striping between Broad Street and Dodds Avenue to wrap up by October 31, with bike lanes removed in favor of wider travel lanes and shared‑lane markings. TDOT and the city say the changes will improve safety, but local cyclists and advocates worry wider lanes and lost bike infrastructure could encourage faster, riskier driving.

2. Chattanooga seeks to expand traffic technology despite funding loss (timesfreepress.com) — Chattanooga is wrapping up a $2 million federal grant that's been testing smart traffic signals to speed emergency vehicles and spot pedestrians along the Third Street health corridor, and city leaders now hope to expand it citywide using a separate $17 million safety grant. With future federal funding uncertain, officials are racing to secure new money so this life-saving technology doesn't stall out at just 13 intersections.

4. This Hidden Tennessee Gorge Looks Like A Mini Grand Canyon Few Out-Of-State Visitors Know About (travelmag.com) — Just west of Chattanooga, the Tennessee River Gorge offers dramatic canyon views from Snooper's Rock and Edwards Point, plus challenging hikes like Ritchie Hollow and the Pot Point loop. With nearly 27 river miles of twists, overlooks, waterfalls, and historic Pot Point Cabin, locals can choose anything from short scenic drives to full-day treks without leaving Hamilton County's backyard.
