The Signal

Dexter &amp; The Moonrocks Country Pop Dexter and The Moonrocks didn’t set out to change rock music - but that’s exactly what they’re doing. A fry cook, an oil field operator, a concrete surface decorator, and a kids’ baseball coach came together in West Texas, blending the country and western of their childhoods with the grunge they fell in love with as teenagers. That fusion became Western Space Grunge - a genre of their own making that turned them from a grassroots phenomenon into a force to be reckoned with.
They first broke through in 2021 with "Couch," a melancholy slow-burn that resonated deeply with fans and set the foundation for what was to come. That early momentum caught the attention of Severance Records, an imprint of Big Loud Rock, looking to make a statement with its first signing. Together, they released "Western Space Grunge" in July 2024, solidifying the band’s identity and introducing their most defining songs yet. The breakout single "Sad in Carolina" took them from small-town bars to seven weeks at No. 1 on U.S. Alternative radio, proving their DIY grit and fearless sound could go head-to-head with the biggest names in rock.
Now, with their EP "Happy to Be Here" (out May 7, 2025), Dexter and The Moonrocks are stepping into their moment, where a cult favorite becomes the “next big thing.” Led by “Ritalin” - a stadium-ready anthem already climbing the charts - the record captures a band fully coming into their own. From viral covers to festival stages, they’re proving they’re not just next up: they’re inevitable.
In honor of the release of “Happy To Be Here,” Dexter and The Moonrocks pressed their first ever vinyl, “The Double EP.” Side A features all tracks from “Happy to Be Here” and Side B showcases all songs from “Western Space Grunge.” The limited edition vinyl pre-orders went live on March 27 to fans and the initial stock sold out in 15 minutes.
Sterling Elza Country Sterling Elza is a Red Dirt singer/songwriter raised deep in the Texas Panhandle. Born into a ranching family that already had 3 musicians, Sterling took to music from the beginning with guitar lessons starting at the age of 5. Drawing influences from his parents music which could range from “old school Red Dirt” to top 40 country all the way to grunge and classic rock, Sterling began his musical journey. Sterling continued taking guitar lessons until he moved to Florida where he played tennis at the IMG Academy. After the passing of his uncle – “Big Ster” -- and 3 years in Florida, Sterling decided it was time to make a change and fully commit to a life and career in music. A move back to Texas seemed like the perfect choice for a budding songwriter. Now calling New Braunfels home, Sterling is launching into the Red Dirt scene. The love of music and the passion to perform drive him to continue perfecting his craft and learning from some of the best in the business. With a five piece band and a wall of sound, it won’t be long before Sterling Elza is a household name in Red Dirt music.
High June Alternative Rock High June&nbsp;doesn’t quite know what they are, and honestly, they’re fine with that. What they do know is that their sound is alternative, boundless, and unapologetically theirs. Drawing inspiration from a chaotic mix of genres, High June delivers a unique sonic experience backed by high-energy performances and a complete disregard for sticking to the rules.
Formed in 2021, the band didn’t lock in their final lineup until 2023 at East Carolina University, essentially becoming five unpredictable college students united by a love for music and a shared goal of avoiding “real jobs” at all costs.
Their debut single, “Crazy ‘Bout You,” dropped in July 2023. Since then, they’ve released ten more tracks—none of which sound alike, yet all unmistakably sound like High June. Each release is a new experiment, a new risk, and a step toward something bigger. The band is constantly chasing better songs, tighter performances, and any opportunity that helps them grow (and keep dodging that 9-to-5 life).
Now riding the wave of their latest single,&nbsp;“Last Cigarette,”&nbsp;a gritty sex driven song that’s quickly gaining traction, High June captures their raw emotion and passion in a way that feels both intimate and explosive. It’s messy, it’s real, and it’s only the beginning.

Highly Suspect Alternative Rock Never content to follow, HIGHLY SUSPECT push rock music forward by trusting their instincts and raising a middle finger to everything else. The multi-Grammy Award-nominated and gold-certified band don't just talk about burning the rules and breaking the mold; they actually do so.
The band's chemically imbalanced mix of gritty guitars, haunting piano, off-kilter synths, hip-hop production, cinematic vision, and beautifully possessed vocals transformed them into a phenomenon beloved by a diehard global fanbase known as "MCID" (My Crew Is Dope). After grinding it out as an underground curiosity, they scraped a path to mainstream infamy with their 2015 full-length debut, "Mister Asylum". It earned a Grammy Award nomination in the category of "Best Rock Album" as the single "Lydia" received a nomination for "Best Rock Song" was certified gold by the RIAA.

With hundreds of millions of streams and sold out shows on multiple continents, HIGHLY SUSPECT charged ahead of the pack again on 2022's "The Midnight Demon Club" and 2024’s "As Above, So Below" with no compromises and no apologies as they challenged rock to be dangerous and maybe even life-changing again.

The affable and engaging 30-year-old delivers these words with the forthrightness that marks his discussions about the band he fronts, completed by Jack Collins (guitar), Will Goodroad (drums) and Dylan Brenner (bass), and the art this collective of college friends have exhaustively dedicated themselves moulding, too often to their own detriment.
It’s an answer that epitomises the dedication with which the quartet approach their craft, and the search for its purest, most meaningful form. “It’s not as simple as saying we want our music to leave people with a positive outlook,” Underkofler explains. “You want music to speak to wherever you find yourself. We want to leave people feeling that whatever they are experiencing is valid, no matter what place they are at in their lives.”
After a decade defining, redefining and perfecting their art, where Dead Poet Society find themselves on the eve of their sophomore release is much clearer. Following on the heels of their acclaimed debut full-length “–!–“ (2021), “FISSION” seeks to unpack the personal journey its creators have been on during that ride to date. “FISSION”, as its title hints, is a 13-track study of personal change and the turbulence of growth that, as Underkofler attests, takes “a microscopic and broad look at the events that changed who we are.” To that end, there are deep rakings over the coals of relationship breakdowns, examinations of addiction in all its guises, ruminations on the responsibilities and challenges of adulthood, and struggles with the evolution, loss and continual search for self. “In a lot of ways this album is about unpacking those emotional pains that come with being an adult,” Underkofler says.
“The past few years have left me in a constant state of growth through the life events of which I’ve had little control, or which didn’t pan out the way I wanted them to,” the frontman admits. “There’s a ‘before’ you, and an ‘after’ you, and there’s no going back. Life tends to force your hand, and it’s futile to fight it. You have to accept that things that happen to you will change you, and let them build you into the next phase of who you are.
