• Cumberland Student Facing Mass Violence Felony Charge (theucnow.com) — A Cumberland County High School student in Crossville is facing a felony charge after allegedly making a threat of mass violence, though officials say no weapons were found and classes continued normally. Crossville Police, county schools, and the sheriff’s office credit the district’s Threat Response Team with quickly assessing the situation and remind residents that all credible school-related threats must be reported under Tennessee law.
   

• Courier Arrested in Social Security Impersonation Scam (1025wowcountry.com) — A Crossville resident was scammed out of more than $50,000 before Cumberland County investigators arrested an alleged courier during a sting at the McDonald’s on Peavine Road. Deputies say the suspect posed as a Social Security agent, and they’re warning locals to hang up on anyone demanding cash, couriers, or remote computer access and to verify requests directly with banks or agencies.
