A Friday autopsy ruled her death a murder and said Yhoana suffered "trauma unrelated to gunfire or laceration/stabbing."

Yhoana was staying home from Liberty Collegiate Academy, recovering from a leg injury she incurred roller skating. She had lunch with her mother around 12:30 p.m. Thursday and her mother told police she communicated with her daughter again at 5:30 p.m. and returned home from her job at a dry cleaner an hour later to find her daughter unresponsive.
