14-Year-Old Killed In Old Hickory Shooting, 19-Year-Old Arrested
A 14-year-old died after being shot in a car in Old Hickory by a 19-year-old "handling a pistol," according to police.

OLD HICKORY, TN — A 14-year-old died early Saturday after he was shot inside a car in Old Hickory.
Clayton Gangji, 14, and three other people were in a parked SUV at the intersection of Hadley Avenue and Old Hickory Boulevard after 6 a.m. Saturday. One of the other people in the car, Zachary Able, 19, was "handling a pistol," according to Metro Police, when it fired. A bullet passed through Able's hand, hitting Gangji. Both then went to Summit Medical Center where Gangji died.

Initially, Able told detectives he and his companions were robbed, though police said he later admitted it was he who was in fact handling the gun.
Able is being charged with criminal homicide.
