2 Charged In Wreck Injuring Nashville Officer

A Metro Police officer broke several bones when his patrol car was T-boned by an alleged drunken driver Tuesday.

MADISON, TN — Metro Police officer Jesse Cox broke several bones and remains hospitalized after his patrol car was T-boned near Cedar Hill Park in Madison Tuesday.

Police say Paul Jordan, 44, swerved the SUV he was driving on West Old Hickory Boulevard, hitting Cox's patrol car in the door around 6:30 Tuesday night. Cox was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Jordan, who had minor injuries, was also hospitalized.

Jordan will be charged with DUI and vehicular assault when he is released. His passenger, Lindsey Penick, 30, was charged with DUI because she let Jordan drive her car while intoxicated, according to police. She is free on a $2,000 bond.
