Coach Kevin brings a lifetime of boxing knowledge, discipline, and passion to every session. His journey began at 17, under the mentorship of Olympic bronze medalist and boxing legend Jesus “Jesse” Valdez—one of the most decorated amateur boxers in U.S. history. Valdez, known for his technical brilliance and Olympic pedigree, guided Kevin through his own undefeated amateur career, helping him win the local Golden Gloves and setting the foundation for a lifelong dedication to the sport. Under Valdez’s guidance, Kevin developed a deep respect for the fundamentals of boxing—footwork, timing, defense, and ring IQ. Those early lessons carried him through the amateur ranks and later into a career as a coach, where he trained fighters during the early days of the UFC, helping shape striking for some of MMA’s first competitors. Kevin went on to become a certified USAA boxing coach, mentoring several amateur fighters and leading high-energy group classes. His expertise also extended into the professional arena, where he co-managed a fighter who earned a shot at the IBF Light Heavyweight Championship of the World. Now based in Nashville, Coach Kevin offers private boxing lessons tailored to all experience levels—from beginners wanting to get in shape, to advanced fighters sharpening their technique. Drawing from his rich lineage in boxing, his coaching style blends old-school fundamentals with modern fight science.
