Staff at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital became suspicious of Bagwell while her son was a patient for a reported seizure issue in January 2016. Twice medical personnel had to come to the child’s room due to issues while he was alone with his mother. In one case, he had stopped breathing. In the other, Alexis Bagwell called nurses saying that Josiah’s breathing had stopped, although that was not the case.
