High winds and possibly thunderstorms ring in the week in East Nashville, with temperatures cooling off in the back half.

EAST NASHVILLE, TN — A windy and wet start to the week is ahead, according to the National Weather Service forecast for East Nashville. After the system moves through Wednesday, temperatures cool once again.

Monday: A 70 percent chance of showers, with possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Winds of 15 to 25 mph, gusting up to 35 mph. A high of 66. A near-certain chance of showers in the evening, with possibly a thunderstorm before midnight. Winds of 15 to 25 mph, decreasing to 5 to 15 mph later. Gusts of up to 40 mph possible. Low of 52.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high of 73. Winds of 5 to 15 mph gusting up to 25 mph. An 80 percent of showers and storms after dark, winds of 5 to 15 mph gusting up to 20 mph. A low of 53.

Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of showers particularly before noon, otherwise cloudy with a high of 62. Winds of 5 to 15 mph gusting to 20 mph. Partly cloudy in the evening, a low of 37.

Thursday: Sunny and cooler, high of 52. Clear overnight, low of 33.
