Elderly Man Shoots Back During Madison Stick-Up Bid

MADISON, TN — An elderly man shot one of his would-be attackers during a bold bid at a midday stick-up in Madison Wednesday, according to police.

The man had just dropped off a woman at the Madison Manor Apartments when two men approached the car and reached inside to try to rob him, but the man was able to grab his gun and shoot one of the two. The suspects fled and made it to a nearby auto repair shop and called an ambulance. The shot suspect was taken to the hospital, but the other, unwounded suspect fled and is still on the run.

Detectives interviewed the victim and a witness and the investigation is ongoing.
