Hermitage Man Shot In Apparent Fight Over Woman
The ex-boyfriend of a woman shot her new boyfriend in his Hermitage apartment, according to Metro Police.

HERMITAGE, TN — A fight over a woman apparently ended in gunfire in Hermitage, according to Metro Police.
Investigators said the woman's ex-boyfriend called her new boyfriend, threatening to beat him up. He then drove to the new boyfriend's apartment at Hermitage's Cherry Creek, kicking in the back door and shooting the new boyfriend in the leg. The ex-boyfriend fled in a green GMC Yukon and did not stop when police attempted to pull him over. Shortly thereafter, another officer saw the SUV on Interstate 40 and a helicopter continued the chase on Interstate 65. The SUV stopped at the Long Hollow Pike exit and the ex-boyfriend and another person were arrested, according to police.

The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries. There were a number of other people inside the apartment, but no one else was injured. Police continue to investigate.
