Pedestrian Killed In Madison Wreck

A Hendersonville women hit two pedestrians, one of whom died on the scene, in Madison early Sunday.

MADISON, TN — Two men crossing Old Hickory Boulevard in Madison were hit by a car early Sunday morning. One of the pair died on the scene.

Police say Freddie Ivey II, 45, and J.D. Cox, 42, were crossing OHB near Gallatin Pike and were not in the crosswalk when they were struck by a Kia Optima, driven by Tracey Murphy, 45, of Hendersonville around 1 a.m. Sunday. Police said it was extremely dark and Murphy told investigators she did not see the men. Ivey died at the scene and Cox was taken to Skyline Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said there was no evidence Murphy was intoxicated or impaired.
