Stolen Car Found In Shelby Park Pond

EAST NASHVILLE, TN — Police found a stolen car, but not its driver, in a pond in an East Nashville park Thursday morning.

After discovering the car in three feet of water in a pond at Shelby Park, Metro officers initially called for a dive team, but cancelled that request when it became clear the only thing that needed rescuing was the car and its sodden electrical system. Investigators are trying to determine how the car got in the water and where the driver went.
