According to investigators, officers Dystyn Stevens and Matt Lamar attempted to pull over Roy Nicholson for a traffic violation, then asked him to step outside the vehicle when they saw a gun and smelled marijuana inside. Nicholson reportedly got back into his car and started to drive away, dragging Stevens and Lamar down I-65 before additional officers were able to take him into custody.
