- Franklin-native Brian Chumney is part of a project that has been nominated for the 94th annual Academy Awards. Chumney is the supervising sound editor on Steven Spielberg's West Side Story. The film has been nominated for seven different awards, including Best Sound. (williamsonherald.com)
- The City of Franklin has announced its proposed budget for the next fiscal year. The budget was released by the city's Administrator Eric Stuckey.
