🌱 Aldermen Meeting Tonight + Living Franklin To Relocate

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Franklin.

Up and at 'em, Franklin! Let's get you started this Tuesday with everything you need to know going on today.

First, today's weather:

Mild with clouds and sun. High: 64 Low: 47.

Here are the top stories in Franklin today:

  1. The Franklin Board of Aldermen could vote at their meeting on Dec. 14 on a cost-of-living adjustment for city employees of 2.5% to kick in on Jan. 1. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at Franklin City Hall, 109 Third Ave. S., and can be watched online. The proposal comes in hopes of countering a climb in the number of open city department jobs as the labor market tightens and inflation spikes. (Community Impact)
  2. The 36th annual Dickens of a Christmas was moved to just a single day Sunday after poor weather Saturday, but that didn't cancel the holiday spirit in downtown Franklin. In fact, multiple vendors at the festival said that Saturday's cancellation made Sunday's business boom. The festival transformed the downtown streets back in time with plenty of characters from Charles Dickens' novels, all ready to take photos with the crowd. (Williamson Herald)
  3. Living Franklin, a store owned by sisters Olivia Carwell and Liz Samuels, announced on social media their storefront on 4th Avenue in downtown Franklin will close as they seek out a larger space in Franklin. The store opened behind Franklin Mercantile just three years ago. The official date of closure is to be announced. (Williamson Source)
