The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Franklin.

Happy Thursday, neighbors! Here's everything you need to know going on in town today.

First, today's weather:

Increasing clouds. High: 49 Low: 31.

Here are the top three stories today in Franklin:

  1. The American Red Cross is currently offering Amazon gift cards for anyone who makes an appointment to donate blood. Winter storms and a surge in COVID cases have caused the Red Cross to declare its first-ever blood shortage crisis. Here is a list of blood drives coming up in their Franklin area in the next few weeks, including drives at the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin, Lifetime Fitness, and Centennial High School. (Franklin Patch)
  2. On Tuesday, the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted no on rescinding a 2005 resolution that established the Liberty Hills Pond as a regional stormwater detention facility. A study concluded that the pond provides the Franklin area with no regional benefit to detain water during a storm. The resolution will likely be rewritten after future studies. 3. After a devastating fire in early 2021, Red Pony Restaurant is finally coming back to Main Street. The beloved Franklin establishment had to evacuate its home of nearly 15 years while the fire damage was repaired over the last year. The restaurant is currently accepting reservations.
