Here are the top three stories in Franklin today:

  1. A new store has opened in Franklin that touts itself as the one-stop shop for all golf cart needs. Cart Mart - Nashville is located at 278 Seaboard Lane in Franklin and offers golf cart services, sales, and parts. The Franklin location is one of the chain's seven locations across the country.   2. The Franklin Police Department is searching for a shoplifter. The unidentified woman pushed a cart full of merchandise from the Mallory Lane Walmart on Saturday morning. Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact the department or Crime Stoppers. (WKRN News 2)
  3. Tennessee's Supreme Court has decided that the state's Republican Party did not violate the law when it removed a candidate from the ballot in Williamson County's District 5. Robby Starbuck was removed from the party's ballot for not being a "bona fide" Republican. Starbuck attempted to argue that the party violated the Tennessee Open Meetings Act. (WATE)
