City Of Franklin: Franklin Firefighters Quickly Extinguish Rooftop Fire At Wal Mart

Franklin, TN – The Franklin Fire Department quickly extinguished a rooftop fire today at Wal Mart, 3600 Mallory Ln., preventing the blaze from extending into the building.

They were dispatched to the commercial structure at 9:58 AM after a worker on the roof observed flames inside an HVAC unit.

Franklin Fire Investigator Will Farris said that the fire started inside the rooftop unit.  He said it was discovered by a maintenance man who opened it in order to change air filters.   According to Farris, firefighters contained the fire to the unit, although there was some minor water damage inside the building from firefighting operations.
