Franklin City Elections: Who's In As Deadline Looms

FRANKLIN, TN — The deadline to submit petitions to the Williamson County Election Commission for the October 24 Franklin City Council election is Thursday and thus far, nine people have submitted petitions.

All four ward aldermen are up for re-election — the mayor and the four at-large aldermen will be elected in 2019 — and all four are seeking re-election. (For more updates on this story and free news alerts for your neighborhood, sign up for your local Middle Tennessee Patch morning newsletter.)

In Ward 1, incumbent Beverly Burger will face challengers J. Edward Campbell and Michael Phillips. In Ward 2, incumbent Dana McLendon will face challenger Mike Vaughn; Nick Costa has pulled papers but as yet, has not returned them.

In Ward 3, Scott Speedy will challenge incumbent Mike Skinner and in Ward 4, incumbent Margaret Martin faces a challenge from Elizabeth Downing Wanczak.

Early voting for the October 24 election begins October 4.
