Franklin High Master Plan Updated
Franklin High may be in line for $9 million in classroom and athletic facility upgrades.
FRANKLIN, TN β Williamson County Schools Superintendent Mike Looney knows his district is going to add 10,000 students in the next five years. He just isn't wholly sure where he's going to put them.
But an update to the master plan for the future of Franklin High School should, at least, give the district a little bit of breathing room while things get sorted out.
Looney and architects from Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood presented the updates Monday night. It's a plan that could cost as much as $9 million, but adds needed classroom space, as well as upgrades to athletic facilities.

The Home Page reports that some of the improvements could be complete by next fall, though the time line for the entire package stretches out to 2018. Looney said the moves will not alleviate the need for the new high school in northwestern Williamson County, but it could buy the district some time.
