Franklin Police Arrest 68 for Shoplifting in 30 Days
"Operation Not In Our Mall" recovered more than $36,000 in stolen merchandise at Cool Springs Mall.

FRANKLIN, TN β During the peak 30 days of the Christmas shopping season, Franklin Police arrested 68 people for shoplifting at Cool Springs Mall, recovering more than $36,000 in purloined merchandise.
Six plain-clothes officers from Franklin Police Departmentβs Flex Team concentrated on Franklinβs Cool Springs area during "Operation Not In Our Mall," which ran from Black Friday to Christmas Eve. The operation, aimed at safeguarding shoppers and arresting criminals, netted 68 shoplifting arrests β 53 of which were felonies.
βUsing a combination of plain-clothes police officers in unmarked cars and uniformed officers, we set out to keep shoppers safe this Christmas,β said Chief Deborah Faulkner. βWe also wanted to send a very strong message to criminals: Not in Franklin, and not in our mall.β
